Curly Endive

Curly endive, also called frisee, is a dark bitter leafy green often used in salads and other dishes. Endive is high in folate, fiber, and vitamins A and K.

Most people use endive added into salad with other greens though it is also good lightly wilted and served warm. The lighter green inner leaves tend to be less bitter tasting.

Saturday Work Party

Our very first work party was Saturday! Marigolds were planted, transplants were added to our herb garden, early potatoes hoed, and most helpful of all, our strawberry rows are almost weed free which normally takes us a good week...

Thanks everyone who made it out!!!

Visit to Earthkeeper Farm in Kent City

We visited another beautiful CSA farm in Kent City north of Grand Rapids on Monday. A younger couple with some farming in their blood.

We love collaborating with farmers who have similar gardening styles!

Family Trip to Sedona

What a great week of trail running, hiking with Liam, and spending some extra time with family before our busy season arrives.

Of course we had to hit up the farmers market! Our favorite - homemade vegetable herb pastas and fresh sugar peas:)
